Aramis Ramirez hit one over the fence and had 3 RBI as the Jefferson Park
Penguins defeated the Tombstone Huckleberries by a score of 6 to 5 at the
ballpark.
Jefferson Park came up with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning with the
help of 3 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Manny Ramirez who made
the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he clubbed a three-run home run (his
30th of the season). Tombstone had a chance in the 9th but they came up
short.
The victory was credited to Juan Rincon(2-1) who went 1 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Rincon was helped out by Akinori Otsuka who recorded his 20th
save. The loss was charged to Derek Lowe(14-6).
'You have to give Tombstone credit, they fought us tough to the end' Steve
Seydell said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out the
victory.'
